Six Consecutive Wins for C-Map
NMEA Award for "Best Electronic Charts"

C-Map showed once again that, while faced today with a growing list of choices when it comes to electronic cartography, the industry recognizes only ONE as the “Best Choice” !

For the sixth straight year, dealers, Certified Marine Electronics Technicians and other members of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) selected C-Map electronic charts as the industry’s best. C-Map was honored with the Best Electronic Charts for 2004 award at the organization’s recent national convention in Florida. C-Map has won this award at each year’s event since 1999. Together with earlier additional wins, the company has garnered more awards in the electronic chart category than all of its competitors.

“Every year the competition gets harder and every year we work a little harder to stay ahead of the game,” said Ken Cirillo, VP and General Manager of C-Map USA. “This award is not just for our electronic charts and how they perform in the world’s leading brands of chart plotters. It’s as much for how we perform — our customer service, how we work with dealers to help improve their sales and profits, and how we lead the technology curve,” added Cirillo.

C-Map has been aggressively developing new products and programs to benefit marine electronics dealers and boaters alike. This year has seen the introduction of innovations like C-Marina™ Charts, including more than 1,000 highly detailed marina charts to its 2004 NT+ Spring update, giving dealers something exciting to display to their customers and giving boaters more detail than ever when they cruise into a new marina. With C-Marina, everything from the location of individual piers and slips to important facilities to where to save money on supplies or services is available right on the chart plotter display. Other important initiatives in 2004 included the launch of the new C-Marina.com website that helps connect marina operators and boaters nationwide with the latest information.

These are just some examples of how C-Map is always working to improve the state of electronic charting and give the industry and consumers something to be excited about. And according to Cirillo, don’t expect them to slow down anytime soon. “We’re never going to rest on our laurels, no matter how many awards we win,” he said.
